100 pupils sent home for having wrong shoes Express Star
The last 2 years the kids have been able to wear these type of shoes as long as they are plan black! Apparently they sent out a letter at the end of term which majority of the kids didn receive as they were on activity week or work experience and to send a text the day before they go back when parents have already brought there child shoes is a disgrace! They should have sent out a text clearly stating this at the end of term but didn Personally if they are plain black what difference should it make it the kids learning that important not the fact of the shoe type!
Children and parents in todays society are only too willing to avoid and break the rules. Unfortunately this is a harsh lesson some parents, however, the rules are the rules and parents should accept some responsibility instead of blaming the school.
It is about time we start to reinstate some respect, standards and an acceptable level of discipline, this is exactly that in its lowest form and something society sadly lacks.
We need to improve respect, responsibility and discipline in society, bottom to top and top to bottom, this starts at home. Nike NFL Jerseys Cheap
Maybe this is the military in me !
Rules are rules: However try and find decent leather, laceup shoes for with a good grippy sole for less than 20.
At the age of 13, I was already a size 13, and had to wear workmens boots with steel toe caps. Because they were cheaper than normal school shoes, and the only sort in my size.
Our eldest who starts school today, is already a size 9. He gone to school with Army issue boots from Cadet Direct, as they look like shoes when his trousers are pulled over them and they were the only sort we could find in his size for a reasonable price.
Those shoes the lad is showing are NOT trainers you numpty.
The Education should fine each and every one of those pupils for being out of school and the SCHOOL should Cheap Jerseys pay the fine,
Teach the kids, that is what WE are paying for.
Sack the person or persons who decided this and employ someone who is not wrapped up in their own self importance. Were they not aware of the two notifications by way of letters, which included images of the new uniform policy, at least a couple of weeks before the end of the previous term. Maybe the notices intended for them were simply lost in the post!
The majority of parents had received plenty of notice and their kids have not been sent home, just a minority of those who felt the footwear they had purchased was suitable. School uniform policies have never really changed over the years, it only because over time pupils attitudes towards fashion has been such that Nike 110 and other trend setting footwear are considered perfectly adequate to be worn at school.
It seems lost on those parents that the school is an academy steered towards business orientation, therefore business attire would be considered far more appropriate as opposed to the Adidas footwear depicted in the photograph.
The minority of parents had 6 weeks to sort out their kids footwear and they seem to have failed miserably at the detriment to their own children.
Full marks for the school insisting that a school uniform must be adhered to, with no exceptions.
In hindsight, maybe it would have been better to give the offending pupils a letter to Wholesale Jerseys take home, rather than not allowing them into school on their first day.
I appreciate school uniforms cost money and certain families aren in a position to spend an awful lot on them. Therefore, maybe the school should try and think outside the box, they could contact a shoe maker or shoe retailer to arrange a contract for allowed school standard shoes at a reduced rate for parents?
As for the parents who want to disagree with the rules, maybe they are the ones who didn adhere to rules themselves and aren setting a good example to their children now? Mentioning no names but look above!
I not convinced that parents know nor am I convinced that not knowing is a valid excuse parents should always find out! My problem is the head teacher electing to send 100+ children home!
The school should have kept them in school (remember how important attendance is?!), and sent them all home with a stiff letter informing parents that they have until next Monday to get appropriate shoes!
The school has deliberately neglected attenuate and safeguarding to satisfy a dress code that can be corrected in a relatively short space of time. And this is a far more grievous act than having the wrong shoes! I hope that the Governors and OFSTED take a much closer look at this!
What a load of crap!!! I fail to see what the F Nike NFL Jerseys Wholesale hell having a pair of " sensible black leather shoes" has to do with getting a decent education.
I attended Joseph Leckie comp. in Walsall almost 30 years ago and never comprehended the uniform stupidity then.
Now I live in Sweden with 2 children in school and I understand even less. No school uniform here, indeed, no shoes allowed in school, ( yup. The kids here go around school in socks ) and the classes are calm, and my kids actually learn stuff.
School uniforms are an unwelcome throwback to the past IMHO and would be better of removed altogether . To send kids home on their first day of school due to their shoes being made of the the wrong material is scandalous, stupid, tastes unpleasantly of "little hitler"dom, and what about if they come from a strict vegan household??

Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 9
This article originally appeared Black Patent Leather Marcia Balla 40mm on BikeRadar
Canyon’s previous Ultimate CF SLX road racer was a superstar in terms of stiffness and rear end comfort. But the overly firm front end disrupted what was otherwise a flawless ride.
Canyon has rectified the situation with this latest generation chassis, however. It’s gloriously efficient, handles fantastically, and now offers an impressively smooth feel that’s perfectly balanced from end to end. Toss in the reduced weight and reasonable pricing and you’ve got an undisputed winner.
Highs: Stiff chassis, excellent comfort, balanced feel, refined handling, fantastic pricing, multiple build kit options
Lows: Non convertible internal cable routing, slightly finicky headset adjustment, narrow rims and tyres, hard to come by in the United States or Australia
The latest Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 9.0 Pro is an outstanding all around road racer
Ride and handling: Fast yet comfortable
The main objective of any pure race bike should be outright efficiency and speed, and the new Ultimate CF SLX chassis nails both requirements. Despite shedding nearly 200g with the redesign, the sub 800g modular monocoque frame has seemingly lost none of its predecessor’s outstanding rigidity, either in the girder like rear triangle or the stout front end.
The bike eagerly and instantly shoots forward when you apply power to the pedals, with no discernible loss of energy or mushiness. Climbing feels remarkably quick and dare we say it easy, full effort sprints are rewarded with big bursts of speed, and even high speed cruising feels rewardingly direct and tactile.
Meaty chainstays and a wide, flattened seat tube contribute to the efficient rear end
Canyon makes good use of that stiffness when it comes to handling characteristics, too. Although some may find the steering to be a bit on the Nude Patent Leather Marcia Balla 40mm twitchy side, it’s appropriate for its purpose and utterly precise. Initial turn in is immediate but on point, and there’s ample feedback to let you know what the tyres are doing at either end. Mid corner line corrections are but a thought away.
It would be fair to expect that such efficiency and handling acumen would also come with a brutal ride quality but, in this case, that’s anything but true. Despite the rather stiff riding Mavic Ksyrium SLR alloy clincher wheels and matching, barely 22mm rubber (inflated to our usual 100/105psi front/rear operating pressures), the Ultimate CF SLX chassis is surprisingly forgiving.
Both the front and rear ends are very comfortable with a balanced feel from front to back
Crudely chip sealed pavement barely registers through the contact points, and even bigger potholes are squelched with a dull thud that does little to upset your rhythm. One of our favorite test loops includes a fast, switchback laden descent with a persistently washboarded dirt surface that invariably forces you to check your speed. On the Canyon, we not only just skirted across the tops but could actually still feel our hands afterward.
Prospective buyers should carefully research their fit using the provided stack and reach dimensions though, as we found the sizes running slightly bigger than their labels suggest. Handlebar heights have come down a smidgeon across the board, too a common complaint with the previous generation from racer types who often just couldn’t get quite low enough but some might still find the front ends too high. Even with the stock Acros i Lock headset preload ring (which takes up about 10mm of valuable stack height and requires a tiny T 6 Torx wrench), though, we had little trouble replicating our usual position.
Exercise caution with the sizing as the frame sizes seem to run a tad largeThat many top end frames are starting to look very similar shouldn’t come as a surprise given that everyone seems to be arriving at the same conclusions: that nominally roundish tube profiles, smooth transitions, and big section diameters offer the best path to maximum structural efficiency.
As a result, Canyon graces the Ultimate CF SLX frame with a very big and broad down tube, its trademark ’Maximus’ flattened and flared seat tube profile, fat asymmetrical chainstays anchored to an extra wide PF86 bottom bracket shell, and a tapered head tube that surrounds the common 1 1/2in steerer down below but Canyon’s usual 1 1/4in upper diameter for additional stiffness as opposed to the more common 1 1/8in dimension.
Shaping throughout the frame is relatively modest all things considered
The source of the Canyon’s enviable comfort is easy to see, too. The seatstays are broadly spaced up at the seat cluster to keep the rear end from wagging, but they’re very slim in profile. Compared with the previous version, the fork blades are substantially shallower in depth while still retaining the meaty, hollow carbon crown.
Hidden inside Canyon’s VCLS seatpost, however, is an infusion of basalt fibres into the carbon blend, which Canyon says allows for more flex over bumps something that sounds hokey until you notice just how much it’s actually moving. It’s no surprise, given the bike’s ride quality, to learn that basalt is also mixed into the fork blades and seatstays.
The included VCLS seatpost really works
The basalt apparently adds little if any unwanted mass, White Leather Jaws 120mm either. Actual weight for our so called ’XS’ size frame is just 780g, including the burly seatpost collar and rear mech hanger, the water bottle bolts, and all requisite cable routing hardware.
The Ultimate CF SLX may be built with structural efficiency (read: low weight) in mind but it doesn’t appear to have come with any shortcuts that might negatively impact the long term durability. The headset bearings, for example, press tightly into permanently bonded in aluminium head tube inserts instead of sitting into moulded in carbon seats that would be easier to manufacture and lighter. And while the bottom bracket shell uses a carbon sleeve, it makes for a refreshingly tight and even fit around the bearing cups.
Even after eight months of testing, we heard no creaks anywhere
Perhaps most telling is that during eight solid months of Silver Strass Marale 120mm testing, we heard not a single creak.
Our one real complaint lies with the internal routing. It’s easy to live with and cleanly executed with direct cable paths, generously sized exit ports, and no risk of housing rub.
But, remarkably in this day and age, it isn’t convertible for electronic drivetrains. Instead, Canyon builds a second variant with dedicated electronic only ports.

Bucket of Blood Street

Bucket of Blood Street in Holbrook Arizona
Holbrook, Arizona was once known as the town was too tough for women Blue Suede Mago Two Tone 140mm or churches. Near the old Sante Fe Railroad Depot was a road conveniently filled with restaurants, bakeries, and a Chinese laundry. There were drug stores, a mercantile, and even a trading post. Along with these businesses came saloons, gambling halls, and soiled doves.
Terrill Cottage Saloon was just another drinking establishment in Holbrook until a bloody event changed its reputation, and placed it on the list of notorious gun battles of the West. As a result of a simple poker game that ended in a drunken brawl and murder, the saloon will be forever known as the Bucket of Blood.
Grat Dalton, who was a member of Black Suede Mago Two Tone 140mm the notorious Dalton Gang, and a gambler named George Bell were playing poker with two other men at the Cottage. An argument over a deal of the cards ended with Dalton firing shots from a .45 and killing the other two men. The dead men fell side by side on the saloon floor. Dalton and Bell quickly fled the Cottage and rode out of Holbrook. After the smoke had settled, the bodies of the poker players were removed. The talk about town was that the floor where the dead men laid looked like a bucket of blood had been spilled. From that day on the Cottage Saloon would be called by the locals as the Bucket of Blood.
Dalton was not arrested for the shooting; however, about six months later back in Coffeyville, Kansas, his lucky hand ran out. He was shot and killed with three other members of the Dalton Gang after a botched bank robbery attempt.
By the 1920 the early Route 66 travelers found the Bucket of Blood Saloon as a more respectable establishment. It stood next to a general store and across the road from a small gas station. The saloon drew in the cross country motorists, who stopped by to see Black Suede Maillot 160mm the bullet holes in the walls and the famous stain on the dusty floor.
Today the Bucket of Blood Saloon sits empty and long boarded up from business. You can still get a look at the old drinking icon from the outside on Bucket of Blood Street. A historic self guided tour of Holbrook points out the former businesses and structures on this once thriving thoroughfare. Residents claim there were over 26 shoot outs on the street in front of The Bucket of Blood Saloon. A paranormal investigator could easily run into one of these outlaw ghosts on the wrong side of the Suede Maillot 160mm track. You can see a painting that once hung in the Bucket of Blood Saloon over at the Historic Navajo Country Courthouse museum. Two bullet holes grazed the canvas during a drunken target practice in the barroom where two patrons competed to see who could hit the bull’s eye rocky boulder painted into the mountain lake scene.

Anything with a Gator

Anything with a Gator logo on it
For die hard fans whose hearts fail during University of Florida’s Sweet 16 match up with Georgetown tonight, there’s a way to take the Gator spirit with you.
UF Bookstore employees can special order coffins emblazoned with the Gator logo.
These days, UF fans can get the Gator logo on just about anything: dog beds, cheerleading outfits for infants, leather recliners and barbecue accessories to name a few.
History demonstrates that the better the Gators do, the more fans buy. The basketball team’s showing tonight will ultimately determine how much the school and Gator retailers profit from the team’s success.
This week, fans are buying Gator basketball jerseys, Sweet 16 T shirts and SEC Championship caps. UF gets a small cut of every piece of licensed Multicolor Leather Maggie 140mm gear sold. Any product bearing the Gator logo or university’s name generates income for the school.
"Final Four and National Championship T shirts are already ordered," Vaughan said. "I’m crossing my fingers that we continue winning."During the past decade, UF has consistently ranked in the top 10 nationally for income generated from sales of licensed college merchandise.
Singing bottle openers and Gator jerseys for dogs can be found mixed among best selling items such as a basic short sleeve T shirts with the school logo. Nike team apparel and trucker baseball caps are some of the bookstore’s hottest products.
"If you can put the Gator logo on it, people will buy it," said Debbie Gay, the University Gold Glitter Maggie 140mm Athletic Association’s licensing manager.
The university earned more than $2.4 million from licensing fees in 2004 05, which ranks eighth nationally for schools represented by the Collegiate Licensing Co.
"Florida’s income from licensing fees isn’t going to sway too much from year to year," said Derek Hughes, a spokesman for the Collegiate Licensing Co. "In addition to a strong football team, they have other successful sports programs."
Profits from licensing fees are split equally between the university and the University Athletic Association. A product review committee, which is made up of retailers from on and off campus outlets, determines if a license should be granted to the vendor.
The university reviews every product to make sure the logo an alligator rather than a crocodile, for example is used correctly.
UF’s Licensing Office handles about 15 to 30 requests a week, Gay said.
She added that July and August are the busiest months in her office, as retailers prepare for the beginning of football season.
UF’s success in the NCAA Tournament is keeping the licensing office busy. Gay said she’s flooded with requests to approve artwork for Sweet 16 T shirts.
Catering Black Watersnake Maggie 140mm to fans
Vaughan said her store is packed during the middle of August when freshmen and alumni purchase Gator garb before heading to the Swamp. Black Leather Maggie 140mm
During the past four years, Vaughan and Gay said that they’ve noticed changes in the women’s and children’s apparel markets.
"Ladies had to wear a men’s size if they wanted a Gator T shirt," Gay said. "Now, retailers are cutting more products geared toward women."
Vaughan’s store dedicates an entire section to infant apparel, which she says is reflective of the market’s growth.
Apparel sales suffer when the football or men’s basketball team has a down year.
Apparel sales dropped in 2004 when Ron Zook led Florida to a 7 5 record, Vaughan said. She recalls marking down most of the football apparel to sell it.

after being pegged back

Albion 1 Cardiff 2
Wiltshire 21, 65
Albion Women were narrowly beaten in their opening league game of the season, after Lily Agg’s spectacular volley was sandwiched in between Sarah Wiltshire’s brace.
Both sides had early chances; as keeper Charlotte Sole produced a fine stop to deny Kelly Isaac, before Cherelle Khassal cut inside Multicolor Leather Maggie 140mm the Cardiff defence and saw her shot saved by Rhian Nokes.
But it was the Red Dragons who took the lead in the 21st minute, thanks to Wiltshire’s shot from just outside the area that went past Sole and into the bottom corner.
The Nude Leather Maggie 140mm Seagulls struggled to create any clear cut chances in the remainder of the first half, with Agg’s off target free kick being the extent of any significant opportunities for the hosts.
But Albion managed to find an equaliser in emphatic fashion after Agg’s sensational long range volley. Khassal nodded the ball down for the 19 year old to unleash an unstoppable drive past Nokes in the 63rd minute.
Although the joy was short lived, as Cardiff were awarded a penalty only a minute after being pegged back. Cally Beaumont was penalised for a challenge inside the box and Wiltshire made no mistake in dispatching the resulting spot kick.
The Welsh side had further chances to increase their lead, when substitute Naomi Clipston forced Lucy Somes to head her shot off the line, before Charlie Carter cleared another Clipston effort away from the goalmouth.
The Seagulls had limited chances to score a second equaliser, as only Khassal’s free kick forced Nokes into action in the Leather Maggie 140mm final 15 minutes.
Cardiff almost added extra gloss to the scoreline deep into stoppage time, but Sole made another fine stop to prevent Wiltshire from completing a hat trick on a disappointing day for Albion.
Albion: Sole (GK); Carter (Wride 83), Beaumont, Thompson, Cheshire; Boswell (Somes 45), Barton (Whitcombe 88), Brown Leather Maggie 140mm Young, Khassal; Agg, Waine (c). Subs not used: Mangan (GK), Adams.
